Many graves in the huge Hillside Cemetery were dug while this area was in Richmond County. A total of 2,437 names make up this list.
There are two ways to get to Hillside: From Hwy. 501, just north of Scotland High School, go east on King St. (King St. is Sneads Grove Rd. going west from 501.) Shorthly after turning, go left on Hillside Ave. and the cemetery begins just past the railroad tracks.
From downtown Laurinburg, go north through downtown on Main St. After crossing the railroad tracks on the north side of downtown at Railroad St., go approximately 0.4 miles and turn left on Hillside Ave. The cemetery is just after crossing Gill and Perks Streets.
