The Pittsfield Cemetery is the third Cemetery in Pittsfield. It was preceded by New Town Cemetery (defunct) and Old Burial Ground (defunct). This cemetery was opened in 1850 and, because of the re-interments, the oldest stone dates to 1763.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as PIT805.
