The first burial in Porirua Cemetery was Charles Crabbe on 13 September 1895. Located at 32 Kenepuru Drive in Porirua, many of the 4,000 graves in Porirua Cemetery are unmarked and more than 2,000 are the resting place of patients of the former Porirua mental hospital. There are 2 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war and 1 of the 1939-1945 war here.
