
The purpose of this project is to document the paternal lineage of all people positive for the genetic marker L1 and DYS-439=null. This marker defines the y-DNA haplogroup currently labeled * R1b1a2a1a1a3.

This haplogroup, found in less than 1/2 of 1% of R1b test subjects, is found in Germany. Hence it is likely to have arrived in Britain subsequent to the departure of the Romans, during the period of North Sea and Norman conquests.
