The Town of Little Wolf was erected by the County Board in 1854. Back then, it was comprised of the area now known as Little Wolf, Union, and Dupont, and the northern half of Royalton. Royalton was set off from Little Wolf in 1853, Union in 1857, and Dupont in 1864.
