The Rocky River Friends Meeting was established by Quakers in the Rocky River area near Siler City in 1753. It was an organized worship service that took place on Wednesdays. The first meetings were probably held in a log cabin until a better building was built. Before 1753, services were held in individual homes. According to the marker, they began having monthly services in 1908. You can still see the historic marker on Stanley Snow Camp Road just north of Siler City.
