This project is for those who are buried in Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa.

The gentleman in the cemetery office said that their office burned down in August 1909, and all of their records were destroyed. They just had to start over, keeping new records of the new burials, and they also went through the cemetery and recorded everything on the gravestones. If there were any graves that didn't have stones - perhaps never or the stone was missing - there was no way to tell where that person had been buried. If a photo request is made, and the office has no record of that person being buried there, this is the reason.
