The Sisterdale Cemetery is a public cemetery operated by a Cemetery Association, which was established in 1929. It is operated under the direction of a Board of Directors. Richard Habenicht was the first President. There is a charge for lots and also for the grave opening. This land was originally owned by August Langbein, who was postmaster of Sisterdale and also operated the grocery store. Mrs. Ida Schoenewolf nee Langbein was the only child of August Langbein and inherited the land from him. The cemetery was purchased from his heirs December 7, 1929.
