A "spree killer" is someone who kills two or more people, in more than one location, within a fairly short time. They are often confused with "serial killers," who kill multiple numbers of people with a "cooling off" period between them. Nor are they "mass murderers," who kill multiple numbers of people, within one incident.
The terms are not precisely defined, and there are disagreements among theorists.
For the purposes of this project, "spree killers" are those who kill 3 or more people within a 30 day period, in more than one incident.
