The Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church is associated with two Cemeteries in Danvers. This Saint Mary Cemetery on Sylvan Street and the Saint Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery on Hobart Street.
This cemetery was officially established in 1868. Here are family stones with names like Kirby, Sullivan, Lyons, Toomey and ONeil. Though there are often spaces between the stones, making it appear as if there are empty lots, this cemetery is sold out. There are something like 2,400 people buried here, some in family plots that have six, 12 and 24 lots. Often the only indication of the size is the number of names engraved on a monument.
