As Jaffrey expanded, residents living in East Jaffrey found the cemetery in Jaffrey Center (the Old Burying Ground) to be too far to meet their needs. By 1829, that burial ground had limited space and a new graveyard was begun on land purchased from Oliver Bacon. The new cemetery was so very near the Baptist Meeting house that it was often referred to as the "Baptist Cemetery" (even though the cemetery was operated by the town).
The cemetery is located on 51 Turnpike Road, Jaffrey, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.
