Originally opening with 20 acres as the Florida Cemetery by the Florida Cemetery Lot Holders Association, the park would later go on to become known as Woodlawn Memory Gardens after Memorial Park Inc. became proud owner in the 1950's. Along with the change in ownership came the addition of 15 acres known as the Beautiful Memory Gardens. The history of Woodlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery is rich. The cemetery has grown to encompass not only the original, old Florida Cemetery, but also the historic Magnolia Gardens and the newest feature, a majestic black granite columbarium in the Garden of Peace.
