Family Hooghoudt from Groningen. Famous for the Hooghoudt Wodka and dubbele graanjenever. Berend Hooghoudt lost his bakery in Makkum (Friesland) and was forced to go to Utrecht with his wife Aaltje van der Plaats and their five beautifull daughters to start working in another bakery. One of their daughters Sjoerdina Hooghoudt met Hieltje Hendriksma and they married and had a son Hessel and a daughter Hetty. Hetty married Anton Kuiper. They were the parents of Hylda and the grandparents of our children.
Berend Hooghoudt and Aaltje van der Plaats are buried at Utrecht. Kovelswade National Monument Cemetry. Their grave is Indicated on the map.
