The above website tells the story of the Habgood family of Latton (Wiltshire) and London, and their descendants, from 1750 to 1880. It provides biographies of William Habgood, his children Martha, Thomas and Mary Ann, George Muskett MP, and Willliam Milburn, author and trader with the East India Company.
The history includes the acquisition of a large fortune by William Habgood, suicide, the inheritance of the fortune by his three under-age children, seduction, a court case in Chancery, polygamy, adventures in the East India Company, bankruptcy, imprisonment, family quarrels, elopement with a minor, illegal marriage, more imprisonment, probably a murder, great wealth, the purchase of a bank, election to Parliament, ownership of a brothel, the collapse of the bank, riots in the streets, eviction from a manor house, more bankruptcy, bigamy, death in a workhouse, insanity, and death in a lunatic asylum. Much of the villainy was perpetrated by George Muskett, MP.
