Erich Maria Remarque
On June 22, 1898 German author Erich Maria Remarque was born. During World War I, Remarque served in the German Army in the Western Front. In 1929, his most notable work, All Quite on the Western Front, was published. In the novel, Remarque describes the traumatic experiences of German soldiers during World War I.
