O. Henry

Today is the 150th anniversary of the birth of famous short story writer O.Henry. On September 11, 1862, William Sydney Porter was born in Asheville, North Carolina. He used the pen name O. Henry for all his literary works. Henry’s witty wordplay and clever twist endings made him one of the most popular American short story writers of his time. Stories such as “The Gift of the Madgi” and “The Randsom of the Red Chief” were among his most popular and are still read today.
