Co. show date of death as 8-18-1864 . His parents were given as James and Henrietta Tabor , and his wife was Julina Tabor . Died in the Civil War at Moorefield on August 8, 1864. He was a SGT in Company F.

The Battle of Moorefield was a cavalry battle in the American Civil War, which took place on August 7, 1864, at Moorefield, West Virginia, as part of the Valley Campaigns of 1864. Brig. Gen. William W. Averell led Union troops to a victory over Brig. Gen. John McCausland and his Confederate troops in Hardy County, West Virginia.

Robert Taylor's Company of Caldwell's Battalion of Virginia Cavalry. This was later called Company F of the 16th Virginia Cavalry. Andrew was killed at the Battlefield of Moorefield, due to a gunshot wound in the lungs. (According to pension application of his widow in 1888.) Inscription: C.S.A.
