Anna H. Beachy

Anna H. (Beachy) Hershberger, 90 years, 6 months and 13 days, formerly of Benton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from congestive heart failure.

She had been a resident of Walnut Hills Nursing Home, but was moved to the home of David and Clara Miller on Buss Road so family could be by her side in her final days.

She was born in Holmes County on November 10, 1929 to the late Henry and Sarah (Shrock) Beachy and married Roman E. Hershberger on January 27, 1949. They lived in holy matrimony for 55 years prior to his death on December 11, 2004.

She was a homemaker and later in life spent 23 winters in Sarasota, FL. She loved people and was a sweet mom to 11 children and was very grateful for everything. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of the Peniel Beachy Fellowship Church.

Surviving are 10 children, Sarah of Benton, Amanda of Fredericksburg, Roman Jr. (Rhea Eby) of Greenville, TN, Eli of Benton, Paul (Miriam Martinez) of Sarasota, FL, Jacob of Holmesville, Abraham (Tabitha Pollock) of Violet Hill, AR, Gabriel (Rachel Overholt) of Oskaloosa, KS, Anna (Mario Cruz) of Sarasota, FL, Isaac (Malora Strader) of Kidron; 27 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Syl of Sugarcreek and Aden of Sarasota, FL; a sister, Arie of Berlin; and a sister-in-law, Edith Good of Wooster.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Elmer; brothers, Emanuel, Crist, Andy, Mose, Henry and Elmer; sisters, Katie Ann, Clara and Lizzie Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Peniel Beachy Fellowship Church, 9915 County Road 329, west of Holmesville with Bishop Nathan Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the church.

Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.

The family would like to thank all who so graciously contributed to mom’s well being through the years, especially the Peniel Beachy Church. Also grateful for the good care from Walnut Hills following a major stroke in August of 2016 and her final two weeks under the sweet loving care of David and Clara Miller. May God bless all those who contributed and gave moral support and especially all of the prayers.
