Notes
a. Note: It is not known for certain where Anthony was born, but by 1687, his parents had settled in New Kent Co VA. He grew up there and about 1703 about age 22, he married Anne Parke.
They had about 2 children before her early death.
Anthony quickly married again to Sarah Parke. They had 7 of their own children plus Sarah would have raised the children from Anthony's first marriage. Several of the children died young.

Even though he was already married, for some reason Anthony Waddy is not listed in the 1704 Quit Rents of VA. Perhaps he did not yet own land. However, even his father was not included in the 1704 list.

Anthony had land before 1716 because his land was processioned in precinct #25 in St. Paul's Parish that year. By 1719, he was an uncooperative processioner and "Anthony Waddy who did not appear" was named in the return for precinct #26.

As the upper portion of New Kent Co was being formed into Hanover Co in 1721, Anthony "of New Kent Co" received a patent for 400 acres in Hanover Co on the "lower side of Locust Creek." (Nov 1721) There are no processioning records for the parish in 1723 or 1727. Anthony owned slaves because the birth of slave Caffee in 1728 was recorded in the St. Peter's Parish Register.

In the 1731 processioning, Anthony again did not appear for precinct #5, but his land was listed in an unnumbered precinct.

In Jan 1733, Anthony "of St. Martin's Parish, Hanover County" sold 150 acres to Thomas Prosser. After this sale, Anthony would have had 250 remaining acres. Later, his son John sold a tract of 254 acres which he stated was given to him by his father.

In 1735, Anthony Waddy was included as having adjoining land in a deed from Charles Chiswell to John Chiswell in Hanover Co. His processioning behavior continued in 1735 in precinct #10.

Unfortunately, Anthony did not leave a will and his death date is unknown. However, since his son Anthony Waddy was called "Junr" in a 1753 land patent, his father was probably still living at that time. (VGSQ, 328)
