GEDCOM Note

Christening February 29, 1756, St. John's Parish, Prince George County, Maryland. Private, enrolled by Ensign Horatio Clagett on July 15, 1776, for continental service, Maryland Line [Ref: D-35, X-2828, which latter states he was born on June 7, 1755.] "Buttler E. Stonestreet" married Sarah Norton by license dated Jan. 6, 1778 [Ref: ZB-206] The 1810 Census shows Butler Stonestreet in Iredell Co., North Carolina. (This would be Butler Edelen Stonestreet, as Butler, his son, was only 13 years of age in 1810; and the son was born in North Carolina in 1797, so the family were there for an extended period.) The 1820 and 1830 Censuses show Butler Stonestreet in Jefferson Co., Kentucky, along with Henry (Harry) Stonestreet and Nathaniel Brown (husband of Elizabeth Stonestreet). Butler, Harry and Elizabeth are the children of Butler Edelen Stonestreet.
