The year of birth is approximate, being inferred from her age 73 years at the time of her death according to the grave stone transcription records of The First Reformed Church.

Daughter of Simon Van Wicklen (1692-1754) and Geraldine Couwenhoven (1705-1754).

Dinah Van Wicklen married John Probasco on August 18, 1753 in Somerset County, New Jersey. An electronic search suggests that they may have had one child:

Jacob Probasco (1779-1839)

That hypothesis finds support in the following facts:

1. Priscilla Smalley Probasco is interred in Lot 391 immediately adjacent to those of John Probasco (Lot 393) and Dinah Probasco (Lot 392);

2. Priscilla Smalley's grave stone transcription in the church records states that she was the wife of Jacob Probasco; and

3. An electronic search shows that a Jacob Probasco (1779-1839) married a "Pricilla Smalley."

Further research is needed to verify whether they had children and whether Jacob was their child.

An email was received by the manager of this memorial on July 7, 2015 to the following effect:

I am Michael Wolfe Van Wicklen, I came across your information at the First Reformed Church Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ, lot 392: Find A Grave Memorial# 125337857.

I have some corrections. Dinah Van Wicklow Probasco should be Dinah Van Wicklen Probasco, daughter of Daughter of Simon Van Wicklen (1692-1754)

Jacob Probasco (1779-1839) maybe John (1732-1789) the son of Christoffel Probasco and Sara Amerman.

In RECORD 128:252 (Macy himself has)

When queried about the RECORD in the foregoing, Michael provided the following response:

The RECORD is the quarterly journal of the New York Genealogical Society, one of the preeminent of genealogical journals. It is usually available to members of that society. Harry Macy, Jr. who this info came from was the past editor of the journal and is one of the most respected researchers in genealogy. 128 is the yearly volume number (4 per year), 252 is the page number (I think volume 4). The note I sent was directly from the RECORD.
