to add some information about Joseph Lallemand and Esther Sinzheim:

He had been in world trade in Le Havre, France for a few decades with his cousins, the Homberg family. In the 1780ies he came to Mannheim (it says "to his place of birth" in the Mannheim councils's protocolls - but I don't think that's true), and some M. Sinzheim arranged for his papers. He became the first Jew in Mannheim with full rights like Christian citizens - it does not say how much he payed for that. I thought M. Sinzheim might be a son of Esther - but I have no proof for that. He could be related in any way. Maybe the shidduch with Esther was the reason for his coming to Mannheim in his late years. It says she was his second wife, but nowhere is a hint about a first wife. And he had no living children when he died. Both were buried in the old Jewish cemetery in Mannheim in 1796, about the only recorded event - but the Nazis cleared the ground of the cemetery. Maybe the headstones would have had some interesting information. And nine years later in the Jewish death records the death of Eisik Sinzheim on June 2, 1805, in the Haberdegrace house. I would really like to know who else lived there. I don't think there were many Sinzheim left there at this time.

Years ago I have been to Mannheim archives, but did not find much and the historians there were not helpful. There should be more in their files. They do have the possible sources, like the registry of house ownership etc.

In 1805 died in Mannheim an Eisik Sinzheim from Vienna, who happened to live (shortly or over a longer periode?) at the house of Josef Haberdegrace = Lallemand. Josef H. was married in the 1780ies to Esther Sinzheim (daughter of Abraham S.), widdow of Samuel, the brother of Simon Isak Sinzheim. Both Joseph Lallemand and his wife Esther Sinzheim died in Mannheim in 1796. I always expected that Esther might have had a son Isak with her husband Samuel Sinzheim, and he could have come to Mannheim and lived in his mother's house. But I have no proof for that, and no further detail was found for the Eisik Sinzheim who died in 1805. So it remains unclear who his parents were and if he was married. But it would make good sense that it was the son of Simon Isak, a nephew of Esther's husband. What is your source for his existence? I have no idea how 9 years after the decease of Esther and Joseph Lallemand Haberdegrace, there was still a household in Mannheim in their name, and who were the residents of this house. I thought their heritage was devided in the years after their decease among nieces and nephews of Joseph, and maybe also heirs of Esther. Joseph had no children of his own, and left no will.
