About Frederick Sidney Dryden

Frederick Sidney Dryden (also spelled Fred Sydney Dryden) was training to be a confectioner, when he joined the 7th and 1st South African Infantry, fighting in the First World War, with the rank of Private. Fred was discharged from the 7th S.A.I. on the 2 April 1917 in Durban so that he could transfer to the 1st S.A.I. (Source: Ancestry.co.uk)
