About Friedrich (Frederick) August Haserick

Friedrich August (English: Frederick A.) Haserick (1828-1902) left the family home in Altenburg in the Duchy of Altenburg-Saxe (today in Thuringia, a part of Germany) and came to America when a boy and in a short time entered the employment of Edwards & Stoddard, whose office was in State street in Boston, Massachusetts (USA).

In 1846 the company became Stoddard, Lovering & Co. and removed to 10 Milk Street. A few years later Frederick A. Haserick went to England and established for the firm a branch house in Manchester. The business there was to import German textile machinery to the UK and to the USA.

In 1860 he married in Manchester Minna Emily Hedwig von Beulwitz from a noble family stemming from a place close to his family's home in Thuringia.

1861 their first daughter Helene Emilie Hedwig, in 1862 the twin brothers Arthur Augustus and Alfred Ernst were born, in 1868 their son Edwin Friedrich and in 1875 their youngest daughter Gertrude, all in Manchester.

1880 found the whole family in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). He was then partner with Stoddard, Lovering & Company (1880), later under the name Stoddard, Haserick, Richards & Company (1895), Richards, Atkinson & Haserick (1908), and Atkinson, Haserick & Company (1912).

In 1894 he returned to Dresden (Germany), where he died in 1902 (in Johann-Georgen-Allee 35, todays Lingnerallee).
