About Jane Barber (Coggins)

"The Barber Genealogy" by John Barber White p. 23 Possibly daughter of a Dutch settler; possibly first white woman to land in CT

From the Connecticut Barbers by Donald S. Barber 1992: Jane's last name was unknown and the name Coggins is highly suspect. Seen as daughter of John Cogan & Maryane Joan Cogan without supporting evidence

It has been said by some that this Jane may have been the daughter of one of the Dutch traders at Old Saybrook, or Hartford, and “the first white woman to land in Connecticut”.
