According to the Visitation of London 1633 , John Ball I's children by his first wife (Alice Haynes of Finchampstead) were William, Richard, Elizabeth and Joane and by his second wife (Agnes Holloway of Barkham) were John, Robert, Thomas and Rachel.

Walne, p. 400, loc. cit ., incorrectly states that John Ball I "took to himself two wives, one of whom Agnes, daughter of Richard Holloway of Barkham, died without issue, and the other Alice Haynes of Finchampstead bore him four sons and three daughters."

According to Genealogies of Virginia Families source Agnes Holloway, first spouse of John, died without issue and Alice Haynes, second spouse of John, was the mother of four sons and three daughters. This does not agree with the Visatati on source which is also quoted at times in the previous source. Recorded herein is the Visatation information.

2. John's will was proved in the Court of the Dean of Salisbury, Witlshire, England as the parish was part of that ecclesiastical peculiar. The will and probate records are in the custody of the County Archivist, Wiltshire.
