John Taylor, III

John Taylor III s/o John II and Alice (Gaskin) Taylor was born 1654 Northu mberland Co. VA

He married 1673 Ann Vezey d/o George and Joan Vezey who came to America fr om England about the same time as the Taylors. George's name appears in L ancaster Co. VA land grants 1655 and in James City Co. 1657. His will, fo und in an old package of wills, made March 14, 1665 was probated Novemb er 8, 1665. He named wife Joan, son Thomas Vezey, friends Nathaniel Brown e, Stephen Tomlin and George Gilliam as witnesses and guardians of his t wo daughters Mary and Ann Vezey. His will was probated by Joan Vezey Nove mber 1665.

Biography

John Taylor was born about 1654 in Wicomico Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia. He was the son of John Taylor and Alice (Gascoigne) Taylor.

John Taylor was a blacksmith and served as a Deputy Clerk and Vestryman.

John Taylor married Ann Vesey before November 13, 1689 most likely in Lancaster Virginia. in Lancaster County, VA.

John and Ann Taylor had five children John Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Moses Taylor and James Taylor.

John died on April 10, 1717 Northumberland County, Virginia. His Will was dated 17 OCT 1714.

Children of Anne Veazey and John III Taylor are:

• i. Moses Taylor was born ABT 1680, and died 1748 in Lancaster Co. VA. He married Mary Burbury.
• ii. John Taylor III died 1722 in Lancaster Co. VA. He married Catharine unknown.
• iii. Benjamin Taylor was born ABT 1708 in Wicomico Pa. Northumberland Co. VA, and died 1774 in Lancaster Co. VA. He married Elizabeth Waters ABT 1730 in Lancaster Co. VA, daughter of John Waters and Katherine Young. She was born ABT 1710, and died in Lancaster Co. VA.
• iv. James Taylor died in SC. He married Dorcas Waters.
• v. Richard Taylor.
• vi. Thomas Taylor was born 1678. He married Elizabeth Hamack
