About Julius Gustav Licht
Julius was born 28-8-1866 in the capital of Moravia, Brno. Along with Stefan and Hugo, he was one of three brothers and one sister Jenny. He worked as a commission-agent within the arts trade, based in Vienna. He was appointed Consul General of Guatemala, in Vienna in Oct 16th 1906. On June 16th 1908 Julius presented his letter of resignation to The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, a Mr. Juan Muñoz. The letter was accepted by the president Manuel Estrada Cabrera on July 15th, 1908.
Julius moved to Berlin where he met Rosa Marie Bein (nee Gerngross) and whom he married in March 1910. Rosa Marie was previously married to Alfred Bein who sadly died early at 42, in June 1908. Rosa Marie and Albert had two daughters Anne-marie and Erika who were both adopted by Julius and carried his surname as theirs.
Julius became co-owner of Berlin Co Obronski, Impekoven and Cie with branches in London, Berlin and Stockholm. The company operated workshops which produced and supplied theaters with theater decor, costumes, lighting etc.
In March of 1931 Julius returned to Vienna due to bad health undergoing treatment at Cottage Sanatorium, Sternwartestrasse. He passed away 10-9-31
