LEVIN Lillian Wright Levin died at New Orleans, LA on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Devoted wife of the late Dr. Irving A. Levin for 58 years. Mother of Dr. Alan Louis Levin and wife Marilyn, Sidney Levin, and Dr. Louis Wright Levin and wife Donna. Sister of Sylvia W. Stern, Beth Bloch Rosenthal and the late Sophie W. Kerstein, Morris Wright and Sidney Wright. Daughter of the late Sadie Kreinik and Louis Wright. Grandmother of Lauren B. Levin and husband Antonio Valadez IV, Joshua B. Levin, Adam W. Levin and Michael A. Levin.
Mrs. Levin was a native of Eunice, LA and a resident of New Orleans since 1945. She was a graduate of Newcomb College (Phi Beta Kappa) and was a community volunteer and activist for the National Council of Jewish Women, the New Orleans Museum of Art and various preservation causes. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Feibelman Chapel of Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon. Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn will officiate. Interment will follow in Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 3. Kindly omit flowers. Memorials to the Levin Family Fund at LSU Health Sciences Center Foundation, 450-A South Claiborne Ave., New Orleans, LA 70112 or Second Harvest Food Bank, 700 Edwards Ave., Jefferson, LA 70121.
