Biography
Origin
Mary was born c. 1632, probably at Dorchester (now part of Boston), Massachusetts.[1] She was the eldest child of Simon Hoyt and his second wife, Susannah Unknown. No record of her birth or christening have been found, and the date and place of her birth are uncertain.
Simon Hoyt may have immigrated as early as 1629 and lived initially at Charlestown and Dorchester, Massachusetts. The family removed to Scituate about 1635, when Simon and his wife were admitted to the church there. However no children were baptized at Scituate. The family then removed to Windsor, Connecticut, where they remained until about 1646. They next lived at Fairfield, Connecticut (possibly as early as 1644).[1]
Note: Upway as birth location is probably wrong. See g2g discussions linked to her father's profile.
