About Moses Bush, Jr.
Born in Sangerfield, Oneida Co., NY, the youngest of 11 children born to Moses & Anna Terry Bush, who were early settlers of that town, having just arrived, following Anna's brothers Isaac & Zeno Terry who had been in Sangerfield 3 years. In ca 1818/1819 Moses married Phila Williams, native of Connecticut who had arrived in town with her Father shortly before. Moses acquired a fine farm of 150+ acres on the southwest side of the great swamp, known for decades as the Bush Farm. Moses and Phila had 8 children, of whom 5 outlived their parents. Moses left a detailed will, distributing his estate to his wife and 5 children. He and his wife were buried in an unknown location probably in Terrytown Cemetery, which was fairly close to their farm and where their parents and young children are buried. When Phila Bush died nearly 10 years after her husband, she was living at the home farm, which son James had been occupying.
