Femmetje (John) Seales was supposedly__married to Jan Cornelis BUYS on 24 August 1663. She died on 13 December 1666 at Flatbush, Kings County, New York, at age 40.

He married Phebea Felix of England, aka FEMMETJE JANS SEALES, daughter of Jan Seales and Phillipa (unknown). They removed to Gowanus where he owned a farm and in 1655 purchased a farm in Flatbush. In Immigrant Ancestors; Leslie Bryan; his birth date is given as 1615 and died before 24 Aug 1663; and marriage to Femmetje 11 Feb 1640; also that Femmetje was buried 13 Dec 1666.

  • According to the records of the New York Dutch church, [Teunis Nyssen] married Feb. 11th, 1640, Phabea Faelix, of Jarleston, England, who is known on other records as the widow of Hendrick the boor, who may have used the surname of Faelix. Phabea or Femmetje was the daughter of [footnote cont'd. on page 99]: John Seals, an Englishman from Devonshire, written Jan Celes on the Dutch Colonial Records, who-came to New Amsterdam from New England as early as 1638, at which date he was a planter on Manhattan Island.   • On 1 April 1633 Phoebe Seales/Sayles, daughter of John Sales/Seales, was bound to Mr John Cogshall for 14 years. "Mr Coxshall is to have a sowe with her and at the end of her time he is to give her a cow calf. On 6 June 1637 Order Phebe Seales free from J. Cogshall."

Phoebe Seales was, by order of Court, put apprentice to John Coggesall, of Boston, merchant, who "at this instant request of the Courte, accepted same and for that the said girle hath proved over burthesome to him, the Court, as formerly, so nowe, have thought it is just to ease him of it; and whereas the said girle was put by the said John Cossesall to one John Levins, of Roxbury, to be kept at a certeine ---, it is now ordered, that M. Debutie, calling to him M Brenton and Will Parks, chosen by the said 2 parties shall have power to end the difference between the said parties; and disposeing of the said Phebe, as they shall think equall. "
