Stephen Snow was born in 1681, the 3rd son of Joseph Snow and his wife Mary (Higgins) Snow. He was born on Cape Cod, in the town of Eastham, settled by his grandparents in 1645, Barnstable County, Plymouth Colony, New England (later called "Massachusetts"). Some accounts state that he was a "mariner" or seaman in his youth - perhaps a fisherman as that was a common profession at that time and place. In his youth he was called "Stephen Jr" to distinguish him from his uncle, Stephen Snow. Later, he had a son, Stephen Snow Jr.[1]

Biography

On July 12, 1705, in Eastham, Stephen married Margaret Elkins, b. April 26, 1683, in Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts Bay Colony, New England. They had 10 children together:[2]

His 1769 Will calls him a "yeoman" indicative of owning property.

Stephen Snow died in August 1769 in Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Province, New England.
