VIOLET'S SCOTT MCLELAND BROTHER WILLIAM SCOTT I decided due to facts found in Clark county Kentucky would have to have moved to Kentucky taking Mary to join up with her brother James Mcleland.
So I looked for any William Scott who moved there and died close to Clark county Kentucky.

William Scott was there in time to take care of the orphaned Mary Mclellan. There is not other information on any other William Scott in that area found. Vilet 's daughter Mary Mclellan was raised by her brother William and his family according to the Scott family contacts.
Colonial Records 1788 Acts of the North Carolina General Assembly 7 1788 November 03 1788-December 6 1788 Volume 24 Pages 952-994 Chapter XXVII Act of Quiet in th epossession of Willaim Scott Certain lands within described. Whereas Samuel Scott,deceased, did in the ìyear one thousand and fifty three obtain a grant from Lord Granville's office for six hundred and forty acres of land lying on Rick Fork and Reedy Fork, in Guildford county then Rowan County: And whereas it hath been made appear to the satification of this General Assembly by sundry affidavits;that through mistake of surveyor theplat returned into the office of the said Lord Granville [and which was annexed to the grant] does not by the courses and distances therein specified,include the quanity of land conveyed to the said Samuel Scott by Lord Granville. And whereas the said Samuel Scott hath since died and bequeathed to his son William Scott the aforesaid tract of land. 1. Be it therefore Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina , and it is hereby Enacted by the authoirty of the same, that from and after the passing of this Act, the tract of land lying on Rich Creek and Reedy Fork, in Guilford county, formerly Rowan, conveyed by Lord Granville to Samuel Scott for six hundred and forty acres, have the following bounds, instead of those specified in the convenyance from the said Lord Granville to Samuel Scott vix Beginning at the white oak corner to number thirteen,running south along that line three hundred and twenty poles, thence west three hundred and twent poles,thens north three hundred and twenty poles;thence east three hundred and twenty poles,crossing Reedy Fork twice,tothe first station and the said William Scott is hereby declared to be invested as full and ample right and title of the lands included within the said lines, as he would or might have been,had they been expressly mentioned in the conveyance made from Lord Granville to the said Samuel Scott;provided no other person or person have any lawful claim to any part thereof prior to the passing of this Act.

James Scott will being of sound mind and low condition of body, my brother William to be my executor. To james son of William Scott one beaver hat, one rifle gun and one set of silver plated spurs. one gold ring, one black silk handerchief with the half of the remainder of the estate turns to the other half, thus to james scott my brother Alexander scott's son the remainder when they arrive at 21. 28 December 1771
