Capt. Luke Edington (who with a brother was in the Battle of New Orleans). Luke was shot above the eye, and before dying told his comrades to preserve his personal papers, as they would be of vast impor- tance some day. He was said to be the most handsome man of his day.

Luke Edington married Anna Hopkins 23 Dec 1805 - Knox Co. Luke Edington had a son Tom, who lived near Knoxville. Tom had four children - John, Charlie, Tom and Florence. (Early Days in Mon- roe Co. TN - Worth S. Ray)
