Concerning the Albinus name from Fámjin Suduroy. Jacob Magnussen was raised by his fathers brother Jacob Jacobsen who came to Fámjin from Hósvík of Streymoy, Faroe Island. Jacob Magnussen was to call his children his foster-fathers name - Jacobsen - but since there were so many Jacobsen on the Faroe Islands, Jacob Magnussen decided to call his children Albinus. The first son of Jacob Magnussen and Malena died early but his first surviving son was called Joen Pauli Albinus. The name meaning the Pure or the White, but please correct me if I am wrong on this matter. Joen Pauli was brother to my great grandfather Jacob Albinus. Apart from Jacob and Joen Pauli there was a sister called Marianna Albinus.
