Audrey Hepburn

Beloved film actress Audrey Hepburn is perhaps one of the world’s most famous actors of all time. As a film and fashion icon, Hepburn has continued to influence the industry well after her passing. She remains one of the few entertainers to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. Her most memorable movies include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday and Sabrina. In addition to her work in television and film, Hepburn is also remembered as a great humanitarian. She devoted much of her later years in life to working with UNICF as a Goodwill Ambassador.

Hepburn was born Audrey Kathleen Ruston on May 4, 1929. She was the only child of Joseph Ruston and Baroness Ella van Heemstra. Her father was an English banker and left the family when Audrey was six. Her mother was descended from a line of Dutch aristocrats.

In 1954, Audrey married film director, actor and producer Mel Ferrer. Together they had one son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, who is today a producer. Ferrer and Hepburn divorced in 1968.

Audrey later married Italian psychiatrist Andrea Dotti in 1969 and divorced 13 years later. Today, their son, Luca is a graphic artist and lives in Paris.

In 1994, her sons and long time companion Robert Wolders created the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund to help support organizations throughout the world dedicated to helping improve the lives of children in need.
