Featured Project: Inventors

Today we highlight the Inventors Project. The inventors included in this project have each made their mark in the everyday lives people and in history through their discoveries and creations. This project aims to include all inventors on Geni and learn how we are all related to them.

Currently there are 44 profiles in the project. Take a peak at a few of the profiles included:

Samuel Morse – He was an American contributer to the invention of a single-wire telegraph and co-inventor of Morse code.

 

Thomas Edison – One of the most prolific inventors in history, Edison produced more than 1,000 patents to his name. Some of his many inventions include the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and the electric light bulb.

 

Michael Faraday – He was an English chemist and physicist who invented an early form of the Bunsen burner. He also made significant contributions to the fields of electromagnetism and electrochemistry.

 

Benjamin Franklin – He was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. A few of his many inventions include bifocal glasses, the lightning rod and the Franklin stove.

 

Nickola Tesla – He was a mechanical and electrical engineer and an important contributer to the birth of commercial electricity. In 1891, Tesla invented the Tesla coil, which is widely used in radio, televisions and other electronic equipment.
