Harrison was born to a prominent political family. His paternal grandfather was William Henry Harrison, the 9th President of the United States. Harrison was only 7 years old when his grandfather was elected president. Unfortunately, his grandfather would only serve for 31 days before dying of pneumonia. His great grandfather, Benjamin Harrison, V, was a leader of the American Revolution and a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

In 1889, Harrison was elected President of the United States and only served for one term. After leaving office, he became an in-demand public speaker. At the age of 62, he married his deceased wife’s niece and together they had one daughter. He died on March 13, 1901 at the age of 67.
