Betty Ford
On Friday, July 8, former U.S. First Lady Betty Ford passed away. After overcoming her own battles with substance abuse, Ford crusaded for better addiction treatment programs, especially for women. In 1982, Ford co-founded the Betty Ford Center, a rehabilitation hospital for those undergoing treatment for addiction. Because of her work and leadership, countless lives have been saved.
