George Washington Carver was an African-American scientist, botanist and inventor whose studies and teaching revolutionized agriculture in the Southern United States. He developed new crop-rotation methods for conserving nutrients in the soil and discovered new uses for crops, such as the peanut. Did you know Carter discovered over 300 uses for peanuts?
