Happy birthday to Gwen Stefani! Today the singer and The Voice coach turns 54.

Stefani was born on October 3, 1969 in Fullerton, California. As a teen, she joined her brother, Eric, in forming the band No Doubt. Her brother eventually left the band to pursue a career in animation working on The Simpsons. It wasn’t until the release of their third album in 1995 that the band would finally achieve mainstream success. As the lead vocalist, Stefani was thrust into the spotlight. She would eventually go on to find success as a solo artist and launch her own fashion line, L.A.M.B.

In 2014, she made her first appearance as a full time coach on the hit singing competition series The Voice. She would meet her husband, country music artist Blake Shelton, while shooting the show. For the show’s 24th season, the first without Shelton in the spinning chair, Stefani is once again a coach alongside artists Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and John Legend.
