Profile of the Day: Harry Houdini

Harry Houdini was born as Erik Weisz on March 24, 1874 in Budapest, Hungary. Considered one of the greatest illusionists in history, Houdini had a remarkable ability to escape from handcuffs, chains, ropes and straitjackets. One of his most well-known escape was from the Chinese Water Torture Cell. In this act, Houdini’s feet were shackled as he was lowered upside down into a glass tank of water.
