Profile of the Day: Helen Keller
On June 1, 1968 author and lecturer Helen Keller died. Despite being deaf and blind for most of her life, Keller earned a college degree and became a world famous advocate for people with disabilities and campaigned for women’s suffrage and workers’ rights. She is considered by many to be one of the 20th century’s leading humanitarians.
