Joan of Arc

On May 16, 1920 Joan of Arc was canonized as a Catholic saint by Pope Benedict XV. Joan of Arc was a French peasant, who claimed to receive visions from God which guided her to led the French army to several victories during the Hundred Years’ War. At the age of 19, she was tried and burned at the stake for heresy.
