On March 28, 1920 silent film actress Mary Pickford married fellow actor Douglas Fairbanks. Pickford was known as “America’s Sweetheart” and was a significant figure in the development of the film industry. For the duration of their marriage, Pickford and Fairbanks were known as “Hollywood Royalty.”
