Thomas Mann

On June 6, 1875, German novelist Thomas Mann was born in Lübeck, Germany. He is best remembered for his series of highly symbolic and ironic epic novels, most notably the epic Buddenbrooks and The Magic Mountain. In 1929, Mann was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
