Profile of the Day: William Faulkner
On September 25, 1897, author William Faulkner was born in New Albany, Mississippi. Greatly influenced by his Mississippi upbringing, Faulkner is remembered as one of the most important writers of Southern literature in the United States. Over the course of his career, Faulkner would win two Pultzer Prizes for his novels, A Fable and The Reivers, and receive the 1949 Nobel Prize in Literature.
