That is something I am proud of but some of my cousins "have known they were royalty all along" ......... Seriously, I think that is great and I wish to read more about him. We are among a select group as decendants.

Lady Amiee

Thank You for that information. I didn't know that. I am trying to connect all the dots. Send an email to Jason Kennedy, he is my son, and he is doing most of the research.

Your friend Karen

Isn't it a strange feeling to know that your bloodlines have droplets of DNA from both sides of almost every conflict in Europe? Those of us who discover one great ancestor are pretty rest assured that there are umpteen hundreds of others in different branches of your "climbing back up your ancestral tree." Harald III "Hard Ruler" the Norwegian Viking gets beaten at Stamford Bridge in September 1066 by Harold of England but Harold of England soon has to move forces south to get his clock cleaned by William the Conqueror's Normans (of Danish Viking ancestry) at Hastings. Then you find out that all 3 of these guys are great great grandfathers. Now that is interesting history. Also. Harald III's wife was daughter of Yaroslav I the Wise, Grand Prince of Kiev whose father is St Vladimir I "The Great" Sviatoslavich, Grand Prince of Russia. That guy married Gytha of Wessex, GUESS who....daughter of Harold II Godwinsson, King of England. LOL. FULL CIRCLE. See. What a small world it was among competing/allied nobles of many societies and the intermarriage which created claims to succession and or kingship in other lands.

Yes, its a strange feeling. Bullies always told me Im a nobody, and so far I discovered 23 kings in my tree! Now whos the nobodies!
And the intermarriages are fascinating, through a danish king Im also related to the portugese royalties. Even Vlad Tepc Dracul, the prince of Wallachia is in my tree. LOL!
And its so fascinating to read about them too, knowing its family. =)

We are all blue bloods. Hello Cousins! :)

Tis sweet, liked your comment Aimee:)

In Geni.com you can add any figure you like. I am sure Donald Duck and Superman can be found if you search. I found that I am connected to Ramses, God, Jesus, and probably Odin and Thor too.

But God and Odin are purely hypothetical figures and noone has yet been able to prove Jesus' bloodline. Odin was a God in Norse Mythology and there is no indication that he existed in a real figure.

It is fun to find your ancestors and see where you decend from, but don't take anything for granted. My advice is to go through the documentation in each link, from who you did not know personally.

According to Geni, I am also decending from many of the great kings, but I am not a 100% sure, as some of the links in between are scarsely documented, purely, because there isn't much documentation prior to Johan Gutenberg. Be critical, because there could have been a relative of yours that was doing a bit too much of wishful thinking, or just added hypothetical links to be investigated.

Lastly, I just want to add, that you are what you say and do, and your family are who's closest to you - the rest is just a curiosity of many creeks that have ended up in the ocean that is You.

yes, it is often more difficult to find someone you are not related to in historic tree at Geni - than to find someone you are related to. Some of profiles mentioned in differet threads about relationships :

Harald III Sigurdsson «Hard ruler» Hardråde is your 30th great grandfather. Ramses I, Pharaoh of Egypt is your 86th great grandfather.
-------------------
Eleanor of Aquitaine is your 30th great grandmother. Fornjotur King of Kvenland is your 43rd great grandfather.
-------------------
Henry I Beauclerc, King of England is your 32nd great grandfather.
-------------------
Henry II, King of England is your 30th great grandfather.
.-------------------
Matilda of England is your 31st great grandmother.

yes, there are many MANY creeks that have ended up in the ocean that is You. The most huge amount of your ancesters can never be found in any historic tree.

I also discovered Im related to the british Tudor-kings, which is also fun to know. =)
