I am contacting you about this profile: Feigen Raderootjes. There is currently no DNA info listed for her on Geni, however a number of us, with well researched genealogies, that can trace our matrilineal descent to her have Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) tests done through FTDNA.

Her predicted haplogroup is J1c2c1.

This was also documented by Delia on http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/g5/p5324.htm, my results was predicted prior to the test to be J1c2c1 based on genealogy and it was confirmed by the mtDNA results.

I am more than willing to share my results (if I can work out how to transfer this from FTDNA and it will be great if we can add her to the project. I am also happy to contact 5 others on FTDNA, that I am aware of that have tested and have her listed as their earliest matrilineal ancestor to see if they want to contribute their autosomal and mtDNA results.

I have also contacted the profile managers with this request.

@Elmien Ballot: Your suggestion makes perfect sense.

Hi Elmien,
Thanks for being willing to contribute your mtDNA result to the Geni community. it's very easy to upload to Geni.
Sign in to your FTDNA account, and click on the "partner applications" tab.
(you'll see it just below the tab you click on to see your matches).
Then just follow the prompts.
Once your results are uploaded, send a message to Judi (the curator of Sophia Cloete's profile) -she'll be able to update the curator's note (at the top of the profile)
I'll add your result to the mtDNA stammoeder's project so long.

Thanks Ian, I am going to follow your advice

Here's a link to the mtDNA stammoeder's project if you'd like to follow it:

Thank you

You're most welcome -and many thanks to you! It's wonderful to be able to add to our growing list of stamouer DNA results.

http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/g5/p5324.htm " Three [apparent] direct matrilineal descendants of Feigen Radergoertgens have tested for mtDNA haplogroup J1c2c1 on ftDNA. A fourth individual, known to me, who is a documented direct matrilineal descendant has also tested for the same haplogroup. It seems clear therefor that Feigen Radergoertgens was mtDNA haplogroup J1C2c1.7 "

Thx Sharon
